811 Hoffmann Lounge Armchair with Cane Seat and Backrest by TON

A Contemporary Interpretation of Classic Bentwood

The TON 811 Hoffmann Lounge Armchair with Cane Seat and Backrest explores the relationship between traditional bentwood craftsmanship and contemporary design. Created by Swedish design studio Claesson Koivisto Rune, the armchair features a broad, softly rounded backrest, gently sweeping armrests and a refined timber frame. Its wider proportions give the familiar cane and bentwood combination a relaxed, architectural character, while the open woven panels introduce texture and visual lightness. The gentle curves and balanced silhouette allow the chair to sit comfortably within contemporary living rooms, reading corners and considered lounge settings. With its combination of natural materials and distinctive form, the TON 811 brings a fresh expression to a classic furniture language.

European Beechwood and Woven Cane Detailing

Crafted from European beechwood, the TON 811 Hoffmann Lounge Armchair features a curved timber frame complemented by a natural cane seat and backrest. The open weave introduces texture and a lighter visual quality, contrasting with the defined lines of the timber construction. Available in standard, antique and pigment finishes, the chair offers a choice of colours and timber treatments to complement different interior palettes, from natural and restrained to more expressive schemes. Measuring 58.4cm wide, 46.3cm deep and 75cm high, with a seat height of 45cm, the chair combines its generous-looking backrest with considered overall proportions. The curved armrests frame the seating area, while the slender legs and open design maintain a balanced, uncluttered appearance.
