18 Kitchen Stool 66cm Upholstered Seat by Michael Thonet for TON

Classic Bentwood Design for Contemporary Kitchens

The TON 18 Kitchen Stool 66cm with Upholstered Seat draws on the expressive curves of traditional bentwood furniture, bringing a refined yet character-rich presence to kitchen islands and counter-height seating. Designed by Michael Thonet, its distinctive looped backrest creates an elegant, open silhouette, while the slender legs and circular footrest introduce a sense of balance and rhythm. The upholstered seat softens the all-timber framework, adding a tactile contrast to the flowing lines of the European beechwood. With its compact proportions and recognisable Thonet design character, the stool sits comfortably within contemporary kitchens, thoughtfully curated dining spaces and interiors that pair classic furniture forms with modern finishes.

European Beechwood and Customisable Finishes

Crafted with a European beechwood frame and beechwood backrest, the TON 18 Kitchen Stool showcases the curved timber detailing associated with traditional bentwood construction. The rounded seat is available with upholstery or cane, offering different expressions of texture and materiality to complement a range of interior schemes. Standard and pigment finish options provide further opportunities to customise the timber frame, from restrained natural tones to more expressive colour choices. Measuring 40.5cm wide and 40.5cm deep, with a seat height of 66cm, the stool is proportioned for counter-height applications. Its circular footrest provides a practical resting point, while the open backrest and slender frame maintain a visually light presence around kitchen islands and counters.
